MONOPHONIST show on their debut-EP BILANZ 2010 that it is possible to let elements like hardcore-punk and drum and bass converge, just as dirty rock n' roll and jazz. It is a music, that uses learnt standards and leaves them behind to create something new.
The five man band from Germany switch between musical styles so that the outcome is a so far unknown combination. Music and lyrics are meant to be a looking glass for our reality, which often seems to be conflicting and full of question marks.
If you're interested in something new and extraordinary with a lot of impact, try this music.
BILANZ 2010 was produced and recorded by diplom-audio engineer Jonathan Hoffmann who also composed most of the songs. The production includes many unusual details that make the album a novel listening experience. It was mixed in 5.1 surround sound and stereo, and the 5.1-version even won a prize at the recording competition of the VDT (German association of audio engineers).
In the DigiPack-CD you find a link to download the whole CD as a 5.1-Surround-Mix in high quality as a DVD-Video Image.
